What this directory is

Charlotte Assisted Living Facility Guide is a directory of 114 assisted living facility businesses serving Charlotte, NC and the surrounding area. It exists for families who need to compare providers quickly and without guesswork, usually at a point when a parent or spouse needs a new living situation sooner than anyone planned. Instead of forty open browser tabs and a stack of brochures, the goal is one place to see who operates in the area, what recent residents and families are saying about them, and how each facility stacks up against its neighbors on the things that actually matter: care quality signals, responsiveness, consistency over time, and reputation trends.

How listings get here and how they’re built

Every facility on this site starts from public business information: licensing status, location, services offered, and similar factual details. We layer that with a synthesis of recent Google reviews for each facility, summarizing patterns and sentiment over time rather than reprinting anyone’s words. We don’t republish review text, and if you want to read the original reviews yourself, we link out to the facility’s Google listing so you can see the source directly.

Rankings are earned. They come from a published rubric applied to that data, the same rubric for every facility, laid out in full on our methodology page. There’s no paid placement inside the ranking itself. A facility can ask us to correct factual details, such as a wrong address, phone number, or service list, at any time, and we’re glad to fix genuine errors. What a facility cannot do is edit its own score, its sentiment summary, or where it lands in the ranking. Those come from the data and the rubric, not from the business being reviewed.

Sponsorship, and how we make money

Some pages include listings marked “Sponsored.” These are always labeled clearly and shown in a separate section from the earned ranking, never blended into it or used to bump a facility’s position. Separately, Charlotte Assisted Living Facility Guide generates enquiries for local providers: when you ask to be matched with a facility, we pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may receive a referral fee for doing so. That arrangement is disclosed in full on the quote page, and it never touches scores or earned rankings.

Who runs it

This directory is published by Great Work Research, an independent publisher of senior care directories founded by Rod Burnett, a notary public and notary trust delivery agent whose estate planning work showed him firsthand how hard families struggle to judge providers under pressure. Rod serves as managing editor and maintains editorial oversight of the rankings. Data across the directory is refreshed monthly, and each listing carries a “last verified” date so you can see the maintenance is ongoing, not a one-time snapshot.

FAQ

Can a facility pay to rank higher?
No. Rankings come from a published rubric applied to public data and review sentiment. Sponsored listings are labeled and shown separately, and they never change a facility's earned position.
Do you show the actual Google reviews?
We summarize patterns and sentiment from recent Google reviews rather than reprinting them, and we link to each facility's Google listing so you can read the originals yourself.
How often is the data updated?
The directory refreshes monthly, and each listing shows a last verified date so you can see when it was last checked.
What happens if I ask to be matched with a provider?
We pass your enquiry to providers relevant to your request and may earn a referral fee for the match. This is disclosed on the quote page and has no effect on rankings.
Can a facility correct wrong information about itself?
Yes, a listed business can request corrections to factual details like address or services at any time. It cannot alter its own score, sentiment summary, or ranking.
